2018 update

 

The projects in Tanzania continue to add up. In the past few months FWF has funded a range of projects. Read on to find out about each.

 
 

HIV/AIDS awareness day

This year we held a HIV/AIDS awareness day in the village of Milo. Milo is located in a region where the offical AIDS infection rate is 14.8% of the population.

During the awareness day we were able to test 383 people for HIV/AIDS and presented educational material to over 700 local people.

2018 saw the completion of a women’s and children’s ward attached to the health clinic in Mambo village.

Last year we completed the building of the school which enrolled 50 students in January. This year we completed the building of a block of toilets for the school.

Improvements at women’s ward at hospital in Kwamdolwa

Installation of ten beds, mosquito nets and screens in women’s ward run by the Sisters of the Usambaras in Kwamdolwa.

 

Menstruation kits to girls in Mtae and Mavumo villages

Distribution of Australian-made Days for Girls kits empowering girls to attend school during menstruation in both Mtae and Mavumo villages.
